In an extraordinary display of talent and determination, 15-year-old Nigerian artist Kanyeyachukwu Tagbo-Okeke has officially secured a place in the Guinness World Records (GWR) for creating the largest painting on canvas by an individual.

The stunning artwork, spanning an impressive 12,303 square meters, was unveiled at Eagle Square in Abuja on April 2, coinciding with World Autism Awareness Day. The event, which attracted art lovers, government officials, and advocates for autism inclusion, also served as the official presentation of Kanyeyachukwu’s Guinness World Record certificate.

Speaking at the ceremony, his father reflected on the journey that led to this historic moment.

“Many doubted that this was possible, but Kanyeyachukwu has proven them wrong,” he said. “This achievement is not just his alone—it is a victory for autistic children across the world, showcasing their boundless creativity.”Nigerian

The momentous occasion was also recognized by Nigeria’s Minister of Art, Culture, Tourism, and the Creative Economy, Hannatu Musawa, who praised the young artist’s perseverance.

His work, Impossible is a Myth, is more than just a painting—it is a message of hope and resilience.”

Kanyeyachukwu’s talent has been widely recognized, with his artwork displayed in galleries and museums across Nigeria, Europe, and Africa. “Kanye’s accomplishment is a testament to the limitless potential of every individual, regardless of ability,” Munduate said. “It’s a call for societies to embrace diversity and ensure that opportunities exist for all.”

Kanyeyachukwu’s achievement, completed in November 2024, shattered the previous record of 9,652 square meters set by an artist in Qatar. His remarkable journey not only cements his place in art history but also inspires a new wave of inclusivity and recognition for individuals with autism worldwide.
