2023 BET Awards: The Complete Winners List

The 2023 BET Awards brought together the biggest names in music, television, film, and sports for a night of celebration and recognition of Black excellence.

With a lineup of talented nominees including Drake, Lizzo, Beyoncé, Angela Bassett, LeBron James, and more, the competition was fierce. ET was on hand to keep track of the night’s winners and capture the memorable moments.

Leading the pack with an impressive seven nominations, Drake proved once again why he’s a force to be reckoned with in the music industry. The rap superstar was nominated for categories such as Best Male Hip Hop Artist, Best Male R&B/Pop Artist, Best Group with 21 Savage, and Best Collaboration with Future and Tems.

However, it was GloRilla who shone as the most nominated woman of the night with six nominations, including Best Female Hip Hop Artist, Best New Artist, Album of the Year for “Anyways, Life’s Great,” and Video of the Year for “Tomorrow 2” featuring Cardi B.

Returning to the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, the 2023 BET Awards marked a significant milestone as it celebrated 50 years of hip-hop throughout the live telecast.

The event paid tribute to the genre’s subgenres and honored Busta Rhymes with a special performance commemorating his 30-plus-year musical legacy.

The night was a spectacle of performances from this year’s nominees, including Coco Jones, GloRilla, Doechii, and Lil Uzi Vert. The star-studded tribute to Tina Turner was a standout moment, as artists paid homage to the iconic singer. The audience was captivated by the electrifying performances and heartfelt speeches.

As the night unfolded, the winners were revealed, and ET kept the audience updated with real-time announcements. Among the notable winners were Coco Jones for Best New Artist, Lizzo for Video Director of the Year, and Beyoncé for Break My Soul in the BET HER category.

The Viewer’s Choice Award for Best New International Act went to Raye from the UK, while Burna Boy took home the title of Best International Act.

Other winners included Latto for Best Female Hip Hop Artist, Drake for Best Male Hip Hop Artist, and Angela Bassett for Best Actress. The Album of the Year award went to GloRilla for her impactful release “Anyways, Life’s Great,” and the Viewers’ Choice Award went to Beyoncé for her soul-stirring hit “Break My Soul.”

The BET Awards also recognized outstanding achievements in sports. Serena Williams and LeBron James emerged as winners in their respective categories, Sports Woman of the Year and Sports Man of the Year.

The 2023 BET Awards will undoubtedly be remembered as a night that celebrated Black excellence in various fields. From the thrilling performances to the deserving winners, the event showcased the immense talent and influence of the Black community.
