In a surprising turn of events at the 2024 Grammy Awards, South African sensation Tyla emerged victorious in the Best African Music Performance category, outshining prominent Nigerian artists including Davido and Burna Boy.

The Grammy Award Premiere Ceremony at the Peacock Theatre in Los Angeles witnessed Tyla’s ‘Water’ triumph over other noteworthy contenders. The track fended off competition from Davido’s ‘Unavailable,’ Asake’s ‘Amapiano,’ Burna Boy’s ‘City Boys,’ and Ayra Starr’s ‘Rush.’
