The Tanzanian government is taking strides to enhance its digital infrastructure and improve e-government services by integrating artificial intelligence (AI) into its platforms. This move aims to streamline processes, combat corruption, and ensure greater transparency in public service delivery.

George Simbachawene, Tanzania’s minister of state in the president’s office, (Public Service Management and Good Governance), unveiled plans for AI integration during the 4th e-Government Annual General Meeting held at the Arusha International Conference Center. He highlighted the importance of digitization in addressing inefficiencies and delays in government operations.

At the meeting, Minister Simbachawene emphasized the challenges posed by manual service delivery and the need for modernization to overcome these obstacles. By leveraging AI technology, the government aims to revolutionize administrative functions, improve service delivery, and eliminate queues and delays experienced by citizens seeking government services.
