Burna Boy’s hit single, “Last Last” and Rema’s “Calm Down” were featured in Barack Obama’s Favorite Song of 2022.

The former US president revealed the playlist, which includes 25 songs, through his social networks early on Saturday.

The list, which spans multiple musical genres, also includes Arya Starr’s hit “Rush”.

Other songs on the list include “Break My Soul” by Beyoncé, “The Heart Part 5” by Kendrick Lamar, “Shirt” by SZA and “About Damn Time” by Lizzo.

And in a post accompanying the playlist, Obama said that 2022 saw a lot of great music.

The former president also asked his fans to recommend songs and artists “he has to check”.

“I always love to share my holiday playlist with you all – and this year we heard so many great songs. Here are some of my favorites. Any songs or artists I should check out?” he wrote.

Obama started the tradition in his last days as leader of the “free world” when he teamed up with Spotify, the US streaming platform, to choose his favorite songs.

Burna Boy and Rema’s songs also made the former president best songs of 2019.

In 2020, “Essence”, Wizkid’s collaborative song with Tems, also topped the list.

While the list for 2020 seems dominated by Nigerians, the former president did not include any Nigerian artists in his 2021 list.
