Egypt’s tourism sector has reached an all-time high, generating over $14 billion in revenue within the past 11 months, according to Mubasher Pulse. This marks a 7.8% increase compared to the previous year and stands as the highest revenue ever recorded in the country’s tourism history.

Key to this success was a 3.97% rise in tourist arrivals, with 14.3 million visitors choosing Egypt as their destination, and a 7.8% increase in tourist nights, amounting to a total of 151.3 million. These figures highlight the growing appeal of Egypt’s diverse cultural and historical attractions.

Saudi tourists played a pivotal role in this growth, contributing approximately $1.5 billion in spending. With 1.5 million arrivals, Saudi Arabia accounted for half of all Arab visitors, cementing its position as one of Egypt’s leading tourism markets alongside Germany, England, and Russia.

The strong influx of Saudi tourists underscores the close ties between the two nations. Their substantial contributions reflect not only their enthusiasm for Egypt’s heritage but also the broader appeal of the country to international travelers.

Tourism experts predict continued growth for Egypt’s tourism sector in 2025, provided geopolitical conditions in the region remain stable. Sameh Saad, a former advisor to Egypt’s Ministry of Tourism, highlighted that the sector has maintained consistent positive growth rates for the second consecutive year.

Tourism remains a cornerstone of Egypt’s economy, contributing significantly to its financial health. In the first quarter of the fiscal year 2024/2025 alone, the sector expanded by 8.2%, playing a vital role in the country’s overall economic growth of 3.5%.

This milestone underscores the resilience and potential of Egypt’s tourism industry as it continues to attract visitors from across the globe while strengthening its economy. With strategic planning and favorable conditions, the sector is poised for even greater achievements in the future.
