Nigerian legend Vincent Enyeama has been voted the best African goalkeeper of all time by the International Federation of Football History and Statistics (IFFHS).
There is no doubt that Enyeama was an excellent goalkeeper during his playing days considering his performances with Nigeria’s national team, the Super Eagles.
Enyeama was Nigeria’s goalkeeper at the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations in South Africa, which they won.
The IFFHS said Enyeama was selected for his outstanding performances for club and country throughout his career spanning more than a decade.
The former Enyimba goalkeeper ranks above other legendary goalkeepers on the continent including Joseph Antoine Bale, Thomas Nkono and Essam El Hadary.

Enyeama started his football career with Ibom Stars in 1999 before joining Enyimba two years later where he made his mark by winning the league title and the CAF Champions League.
Recall that the former Nigerian international, Vincent Enyeama was ranked among the Super Eagles’ top ten goalkeeper.
The former Enyimba goalkeeper  made 101 appearances for Nigeria between 2002 and 2015 and won the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations.
During his time at French club Lille, Enyeama set the record for the best goalkeeper in history with 164 appearances. in all competitions.
