Israel Adesanya knocks out Pereira to regain UFC middleweight title

Israel Adesanya defeated Alex Pereira to reclaim the middleweight title in the main event of UFC 287.

It was the duo’s fourth fight, with Pereira defeating Adesanya twice in kickboxing before following the Nigerian-New Zealander into mixed martial arts here he took his UFC title via TKO in November.

However, the fourth time became the charm for Adesanya as he finally defeated his longtime rival, freezing Pereira with a right hook in the second round before dropping the champion with a single fist and ending the fight with a hammer fist.

In the co-main event, Jorge Masvidal lost points to Gilbert Burns before retiring from MMA. Masvidal recalled 20 years of his career in front of a local Miami audience and paid tribute to former US President Donald Trump, who sat ringside.

Trump sat in the front row with Mike Tyson and UFC President Dana White, and the Miami-Dade Arena the the crowd exploded as the 76-year-old arrived.

Rapper Drake, on the other hand showed great belief in Israel Adesanya, the ‘Last style bender.’

Drake is no newbie to betting and has recorded several losses in the process.

This time he bet $400,000 on Adesanya vs Pereira via knockout, with a potential payout of $1,840,000.

He also bet another $500,000 on Adesanya winning the fight with a potential payout of $885,000. Luckily, he seems to have won both.
