According to reports, Afro-French football star N’Golo Kante is on the verge of joining Saudi Arabian club Al Ittihad, following in the footsteps of his compatriot Karim Benzema.
The 32-year-old defensive midfielder, whose contract with Chelsea was set to expire in June, had been in talks for a potential extension with the London club. However, an agreement was never reached, and Al Ittihad seized the opportunity to make their move.
It is believed that Kante has agreed to a lucrative two-year deal worth an astounding US$214 million, with an option for another year thereafter.
The transfer comes shortly after Al Ittihad secured the signing of Karim Benzema from Real Madrid, showcasing the club’s ambition to bolster their squad with top talent.
