Nyanin, who previously served with the New York Liberty, will assume her role on May 13, according to an announcement made by the organization on Monday.

In her new capacity, Nyanin will oversee all basketball operations and report directly to Warriors co-executive chairman and CEO, Joe Lacob. Her extensive experience and deep understanding of the WNBA and international women’s basketball landscape make her the ideal candidate for the position.

“We are thrilled to welcome Ohemaa as the first general manager of WNBA Golden State,” expressed Warriors CEO Joe Lacob. “Her impressive track record and comprehensive knowledge of the sport, coupled with her commitment to fostering a winning culture, make her the perfect fit for our organization as we embark on this new chapter.”
