A recent report published by the UK-based Centre for Information Resilience has accused Duduzile Zuma-Sambudla, the daughter of former South African President Jacob Zuma, of assisting Russia in disseminating propaganda regarding the war in Ukraine.

According to the report, Zuma-Sambudla’s pro-Russia tweets played a significant role in Moscow’s efforts to manipulate public opinion in South Africa and other regions.

With approximately 237,000 followers on Twitter, Zuma-Sambudla holds a prominent position within the South African social media landscape. However, she has not yet responded to the allegations made against her.

The researchers conducting the investigation based their findings on the personal nature of the content shared on Zuma-Sambudla’s account, which included photographs, as well as the discussions within South African media regarding her tweets.

These factors were considered as evidence of her ownership of the account, as reported by Bloomberg on Wednesday.

South Africa has faced criticism from Western nations due to its neutral stance on the conflict in Ukraine. The Centre for Information Resilience, which focuses on researching human rights abuses and disinformation, receives funding from various sources, including the governments of the United States and the United Kingdom, both of which are major suppliers of arms to Ukraine.

As the accusations against Zuma-Sambudla surface, the public awaits her response and further developments surrounding this matter.
