Tina Turner’s Hometown to Build Statue to Honor the Legendary Singer

The late Queen of Rock N’ Roll, Tina Turner, is set to be honored in her hometown with the construction of a statue, as announced by Mayor Bill Rawls Jr. The news has garnered widespread support and excitement within the community.

The statue will be erected in Brownsville’s Heritage Park, near the high school where Turner once attended. The city already boasts the Tina Turner Museum, making it a fitting tribute to the iconic singer.

Mayor Rawls Jr. expressed his admiration for Turner, stating, “When Tina stepped on stage, she owned it. We want this statue to represent that passion. Tina was an inspiration to the entire world… She showed the people of Brownsville that no matter where you start, you own your story about where you end up.”

Tina Turner passed away at the age of 83 due to natural causes. Her representative spoke with The Daily Mail, revealing that the cause of death was related to an unspecified illness. Turner had also battled intestinal cancer and high blood pressure for over four decades.

The late singer continues to receive heartfelt tributes from various celebrities and friends. Alongside notable figures like Oprah Winfrey, Beyoncé, and Angela Bassett, many others have expressed their love and admiration for The Queen of Rock N’ Roll.

As the statue project moves forward, Brownsville eagerly anticipates the completion of this remarkable tribute to honor the enduring legacy of Tina Turner, a true music legend.
