Habib Nsikonnene, a 43-year-old traditional healer from Namasengere village in Uganda’s Mukono District, gained significant attention recently for his encounters with the parents of his seven prospective wives within a week. On the same day, Nsikonnene proceeded to marry all seven fiancés, including two blood sisters, in grand traditional Muslim weddings (Nikkah) held at each bride’s residence.
Habib Nsikonnene, who is considered financially well-off by local standards, then hosted a memorable reception ceremony at his home on Sunday, inviting all seven wives, their friends, and family, before moving in with his spouses.
According to local residents, Nsikonnene’s marriage procession consisted of around 40 vehicles and 30 motorcycles, reflecting his prosperous business endeavors. As a result, Habib Nsikonnene has become a celebrated figure in his remote village, putting it on the map and earning admiration from the community.
The Namasengere Village chairperson, Emmanuel Owere, expressed his appreciation for Nsikonnene’s presence, describing him as a person of exceptional qualities and suggesting that a road in the area should be named after him.
Owere further emphasized Nsikonnene’s hard work and encouraged locals to follow his example.
“He is a rare man because given his status in society, he has been mingling with everyone. He is a hard worker and locals should emulate him,” said Owere.
