In a landmark verdict, Feyi Daniels, the leader of the “I Reign Christian Ministry” based in Lagos, has been sentenced to life imprisonment by the Ikeja Sexual Offences and Domestic Violence Court for the rape of a 23-year-old church member. The court delivered the sentence on Friday, January 26, following a thorough legal process.
The victim, who also served as the assistant to Daniels, played a pivotal role in exposing the heinous crime committed by the church leader. Additionally, Daniels received a concurrent three-year sentence for sexually assaulting a 19-year-old member of the church. The sentences were handed down by Judge Rahman Oshodi, who denounced Daniels as a liar lacking regard for the truth.
The Lagos State Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency (DSVA) released a statement confirming that Daniels’ name would be registered in the Sexual Offenders Register maintained by the state.

During his defense last year, Daniels claimed that three out of the four women accusing him of sexual assault had conspired against him. He asserted that one of the accusers fabricated the allegations due to personal grievances, alleging that he had not assisted her with financial issues.
The court found Daniels guilty under Section 260 (2) of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015, which addresses the crime of rape. This significant legal decision sends a powerful message against sexual violence and underscores the commitment to holding individuals accountable for such reprehensible actions within religious institutions. The justice system aims to ensure the safety and protection of all citizens, regardless of their affiliations.
