In a stunning display of skill and determination, Nigeria’s Super Eagles secured their spot in the Africa Cup of Nations quarterfinals by defeating Cameroon’s Indomitable Lions 2-0 in a thrilling last-16 match on Saturday.

Ademola Lookman emerged as the hero, scoring a decisive brace that propelled Nigeria to victory. His 36th-minute goal at the Felix Houphouet-Boigny Stadium broke the deadlock, and he sealed the win with another goal in the dying moments of the match.

Nigeria’s African Footballer of the Year, Victor Osimhen, played a pivotal role, showcasing exceptional work rate and leadership throughout the game. Osimhen’s tenacity led to the creation of the opening goal as he pressured Cameroon’s defender Oumar Gonzalez, ultimately setting up Lookman for the crucial score.
