Aizza Angel Yankah, affectionately known as “Adjoa Lil Doc,” is no ordinary 5-year-old. With her remarkable knowledge of medical terminology and infectious enthusiasm for medicine, the Ghanaian child prodigy has become a global sensation. Known as “Little Doctor” to her friends, Aizza has amassed over 50,000 Instagram followers, earning her verified status while capturing the hearts of internet users worldwide.
Aizza’s fascination with medicine began unusually early. Her family recalls that her curiosity about diseases and the human body started at just 18 months old. By the age of two, she confidently declared her desire to become a doctor during her school’s career day.
In a recent interview with BBC Pidgin, she explained her motivation:
“I want to become a doctor because I want to heal and save people. What inspires me about medicine is learning how the human body works and finding solutions when there’s a problem.”
Her knowledge is already impressive for her age. Aizza is proficient in gynecological terminology, medical abbreviations, and even has the ability to alphabetize diseases—a skill that leaves many in awe.
Dr. Andrews Baha, a mentor who began guiding Aizza last year, shared his admiration for her unique passion.

“Her interest in medicine was evident even before I became involved. When I started mentoring her, it was clear that she had a natural drive to learn about the medical field,” he said.
Aizza herself looks up to Dr. Penelope Adinku, one of Ghana’s top female cardiologists. “She’s one of the best cardiologists in Ghana. I wish to meet her one day,” the young prodigy revealed.
Hailing from Takoradi in Ghana’s Western Region, Aizza has just completed kindergarten but already has ambitious goals. She aspires to become the best cardiologist in Africa—and eventually the world.
“I want to heal hearts and solve the problems people face with their health,” she said with conviction.
Aizza’s growing online presence has made her a symbol of inspiration for children and adults alike. Many are captivated not only by her academic abilities but also by her unwavering determination to make a difference.
