Tanzania’s Gabriel Geay finishes second ahead of Eliud Kipchoge In Boston Marathon

In a surprising turn of events, Tanzania’s Gabriel Geay has finished second ahead of Eliud Kipchoge in the 2023 Boston marathon.

Geay, who had previously placed third in the 2021 New York City marathon, crossed the finish line with a time of 2 hours, 7 minutes, and 42 seconds, just seconds ahead of Kipchoge, the world record holder and two-time Olympic gold medalist.

Geay’s victory is a testament to the growing strength of East African long-distance runners, who have dominated the sport for decades.
