Kanye West, the controversial rapper and fashion designer, has deactivated his Instagram account in April 2023, leaving his millions of followers wondering about the reason behind the move.

On Tuesday afternoon (April 18), Ye posted a photo to Instagram essentially filling out the form to be one click away from temporarily deactivating his account.

The sudden deactivation of his account has sent shockwaves across social media platforms, with many fans speculating about the possible reasons.

Some have suggested that West might be taking a break from social media to focus on his upcoming projects, while others have claimed that the move is related to his desire to spend time with his new wife, Bianca Censori.

West had been active on Instagram since 2016, where he had amassed a massive following of over 14 million users. His posts on the platform have been a mix of personal photos, fashion shots, and promotional material for his music and clothing lines.

The rapper has been in the headlines for the past few years, not just for his music and fashion, but also for his outspoken views and controversies.

In 2020, he had announced his candidacy for the US presidential elections, which was met with both support and criticism. Not to forget his recent views about Jewish people, when he claimed severally what dozens of netizens have called controversial and completely offensive.

Many of West’s fans have expressed their disappointment at his decision to deactivate his Instagram account.

They have taken to social media to share their thoughts and emotions, with some even pleading with the rapper to reactivate his account.

It is unclear when or if West plans to return to Instagram, but one thing is for sure: his absence from the platform will be felt by his millions of followers.
