The arrest of Sean “Diddy” Combs has reignited public interest in his tumultuous relationships, bringing the late Kim Porter, the mother of four of his children, back into the spotlight. In an unexpected twist, a controversial book titled Kim’s Lost Words: A Journey for Justice from the Other Side… has surged to the top of Amazon’s bestseller charts. The book, released on September 6—just days before Diddy’s arrest—claims to feature Porter’s journal entries from her time with the music mogul.

However, those who were close to Porter are calling foul. The book, written by Jamal T. Millwood, has been met with outrage by Porter’s inner circle, who claim it is nothing more than a hoax. Eboni Elektra, a close friend of Porter, took to Instagram to vehemently dismiss the claims surrounding the supposed memoir.

“There is no book! There never was. Several people continue to speak about and spread blatant lies regarding this ‘mystery manuscript’ as if it were true,” Elektra wrote. “People…IT’S NOT. Kim would never do such a thing and that’s the honest to God truth. God knows the truth, and so does she.”

The backlash didn’t stop there. Singer and producer Al B. Sure, who shares a son with Porter, also lashed out at the book. In a lengthy Instagram post, he called it “FAKE Unauthorized nonsense,” emphasizing that Porter would never have agreed to such a project.

Al B. Sure has also threatened legal action against Millwood and publisher Chris Todd, who have further complicated matters by alleging in the book that he had a sexual relationship with Diddy—an accusation Al B. Sure strongly denies.

The question of authenticity surrounding Kim’s Lost Words deepened when Todd shared his account of how the material for the book came to light.

According to him, the journal entries were obtained from a mysterious flash drive that allegedly belonged to Porter. “I was lucky enough to meet someone that purported to have Kim Porter’s flash drive,” Todd told Daily Mail. “I know the celebrity source pretty well. I know how close they were to Kim and Diddy, and all the people in the hip-hop community. This was supposedly for Kim Porter from the grave, to come forward and tell her story.”

For many, this explanation only raises more questions than answers, as it seems highly unlikely Porter would have left such personal revelations in the hands of a third party. Yet, despite the mounting skepticism, the book has captivated readers, especially given the backdrop of Diddy’s arrest on serious charges of sex trafficking and abuse.

As the legal drama surrounding Diddy continues to unfold, Porter’s name remains caught in the web of controversy. While some view the sudden popularity of Kim’s Lost Words as an attempt to capitalize on the moment, others are simply intrigued by the prospect of hearing from a figure who passed away under tragic circumstances.

However, for those closest to her, the book feels like an insult to her memory. The rush to believe in its authenticity, fueled by Diddy’s ongoing legal troubles, raises concerns about how quickly people are willing to believe sensationalized claims.

For now, Diddy’s case continues to dominate the headlines, and it seems Kim Porter’s legacy, too, will remain entangled in the ongoing saga surrounding one of hip-hop’s most iconic figures.
