A devastating fire swept through the Kantamanto Market in Accra, Ghana, early Thursday morning, causing significant damage to one of the city’s largest commercial hubs.
Eyewitnesses described scenes of chaos and urgency as traders and bystanders scrambled to save what they could from the rapidly spreading flames. Over 100 shops were reportedly destroyed, leaving many business owners devastated as their goods were consumed by the fire.
The Ghana National Fire Service responded swiftly, deploying 13 fire crews to the scene. After hours of battling the blaze, the fire was finally brought under control. Fortunately, no injuries have been reported so far.
