Obi Cubana while speaking with popular On-Air personality, Ifedayo Olarinde aka Daddy Freeze in an Instagram live session said he wants to be the boy’s mentor and he promised to sponsor the young boy’s education till the Masters level in an institution of the boy’s choice.

The promise made by Obi Cubana

“Love should be shown in our actions and not just in our words. I want to meet the young boy who despite being a hawker, gave N100 notes to people in a prison van and was not even aware that he was been filmed by a concerned passerby who was driving on the same road.

“Anyone who knows him should connect the boy with Daddy Freeze or me. I want him to go to school in good condition, and I would see him through the University; and if he wants to do his Masters degree abroad; I would also make sure that he is comfortable while going to school because his generosity touched me.

“I would do whatever he wants for him, and by God’s grace, when he is done in school he would get a top-level position at any of my organisations; and if he, however, finds a higher calling, he is free to do as he pleases. The most important thing is that I want him to know that he now has a mentor who would guide him through this tough world.”

The Nigerian hawker became rich a couple of hours after his deed of kindness was captured on camera and circulated widely online; in a viral video.

The viral video in which the bottle water hawker was seen handing his wares over to prisoners; who were being conveyed in a Nigerian Correctional Service vehicle melted the hearts of many people.

In a follow-up report, it was revealed that his student account has been flagged by his bank; which is as a result of the amount of money that rushed into it from benevolent people within an hour.

Commenting on the issue, a source says; ”I can’t put a figure to how much we have raised yet cos I guess his account was flagged at about 1pm immediately he hit 317k cos it’s a student account.”

In a recent interview, the young man stated that what he did was just a random act of kindness and there was no motivation or inspiration behind it. He also admitted that he didn’t have so much but he was considerate of the prisoners who did not have the kind of freedom he enjoys despite he is only a low-income earner.

He revealed he initially gave a N100 note to just one prisoner; but he was however moved to share more of the money he had in his hands; when other prisoners who were in the bus also cried for help.
