Marlène-Kany Kouassi Gets Crowned Miss Côte d’Ivoire 2022

Popularly Known as Miss Sud Comoé, Marlène-Kany Kouassi has beaten 26 other finalists to be crowned Miss Ivory Coast 2022 on Saturday, 2nd July at Sofitel Abidjan.

Nassita Diako and Laurel Gnakpa were first and second runners-up, respectively, while Amy Touré and Paule-Nelly Kouamé rounded out the top five.

Current Miss World Karolina Bielawska, Miss World CEO Julia Morley and Miss World Europe Anna Leitch were special guests during the event.

The new Miss Ivory Coast, a 23-year-old lawyer and model, succeeds last year’s Miss World winner and runner-up Olivia Yacé. As expected, Kouassi is now preparing to represent her country in the 71st Miss World pageant.

Yacé received her successor, Marlene Kany Kouassi, and new Miss Côte d’Ivoire 2022 at the Palais des Congrès of Sofitel, Abidjan Hôtel Ivoire.

The event, which took place on Saturday 2nd July 2022, was broadcasted LIVE and lasted over three hours on RTI and was watched by millions of viewers.

Celebrating her win, Marlene wrote on her social media pages;

“My goal today is to prove to the young woman that you can achieve your goals when you apply enough willpower, courage and hard work. A woman can study law and be a beauty queen at the same time.

“To all young women, we are capable of great things.


“LET’S DREAM and make those dreams come true.

“A woman leader assumes her personality and will never let anyone trample her principles and values.


“She establishes her professional, family and social goals and works to achieve them. And she makes women’s voices grow with her.
This woman leader can be each of us.

“I hope, through my journey, to inspire young Ivorian girls to fight to achieve their dreams.”
