Award-winning actress and producer Marsai Martin is turning her spotlight toward a different kind of legacy—one built on financial empowerment, education, and generational wealth. Through her nonprofit, Marsai’s Way Foundation, the 20-year-old Hollywood star has partnered with Seeds of Fortune Inc. to equip 10,000 young women with the tools to take control of their financial futures.
The ambitious three-year partnership officially kicked off on June 6 with a high-energy forum titled “Women of Color Creating Wealth,” where young women gathered to connect with financial experts, mentors, and trailblazing entrepreneurs. For many attendees, the event was more than just a seminar, it was a wake-up call to the possibilities of ownership, equity, and power.
“I want girls who look like me to know they can own their futures, build wealth, and become leaders in every room they walk into,” Martin said. “This isn’t just about money. It’s about creating freedom.”
Freedom, in this context, means giving young women—especially those from underserved communities—the knowledge and resources to build stable, independent lives. Through workshops, mentorships, career access, and financial education, the initiative aims to close wealth gaps and inspire a new generation of confident, financially literate leaders.

Seeds of Fortune, Inc., led by founder and executive director Nitiya Walker, has already made waves in the space of college access and economic equity for young women of color. Now, with Marsai’s Way Foundation on board, the mission is expanding in scale and reach.
“Education is the foundation of economic equity,” Walker said in a statement. “Our partnership with Marsai allows us to scale our mission and deliver financial literacy, mentorship, and long-term career support to young women who deserve a seat at every table.”
This move is hardly surprising for fans of Martin, who has long used her platform to encourage self-confidence and forward thinking among young people. In 2022, she debuted “Money With Marsai Martin,” a digital series aimed at demystifying money matters for Gen Z audiences in a fun, relatable format.
What’s emerging now is a clearer picture of Martin’s long-term vision, one that stretches beyond the entertainment industry and into the real-world impact of economic freedom and self-determination.
For the thousands of young women who will walk through the doors of this program, the message is clear: your future isn’t just something to hope for—it’s something you can own.
