As Youtube celebrates Africa Month, it has announced several events in line with this event, especially those targeted at showing the creativity and beauty of the African continent. While the events are to show African creativity, they will also serve as a platform to learn for several creatives who are willing to go through the process.

The events are meant to reinforce the platform’s commitment to strengthening Africa’s creator ecosystem, as well as to highlight and celebrate the artists and creatives who are propelling Afrobeats and Africa’s music industry forward.

YouTube Celebrates Africa Month

YouTube will provide virtual and in-person training and workshops to African content creators to help them build their channels and enhance their talents. These include a Creator 360 virtual workshop, a tool that will serve significantly well to ensure that content producers within Africa can interact and exchange ideas, as well as have people share what they have to say and put out to the world. There will also be an in-person Creator Day workshop conducted by industry experts that will help prospective creators develop the skills they need to keep prospering on YouTube.

The media company will also host workshops targeted at building its “Future Insiders Program.” A program that would provide hands-on instruction from seasoned producers like Sarz and Musa Keys to aspiring producers and songwriters.

Recall that YouTube had just recently launched its NextUp initiative. A project which has proven useful for many artists and content creators across the continent. The process will offer creatives access to learning through one-on-one coaching, workshops, and tools.

YouTube continues in its path of improving and exporting African creative data while also ensuring a platform for Africans to share and grow communities that could reach a wider audience. Beyond its creative concentration, it also establishes a business and produces cash.

The YouTube Africa Day Concert, ranked as one of the most important Youtube events of the year, will be coming up for the third year. For the year 2022, the event will be in collaboration with Idris Elba, as part of the Africa Month lineup. As usual, the concert will be live-streamed by thousands of Africans across the world, with dozens of the continent’s biggest artists celebrating the African continent.

Managing Director, Emerging Markets, YouTube EMEA, Alex Okosi explained that to officially celebrate the African continent on such a special month, these special events were created to serve as an impactful initiative for African creative. The director claimed that the goal of Youtube remains the same as always, “to elevate the work of creators and artists who are at the forefront of the continent’s creative explosion.”
