In an exciting revelation, Hollywood legend Denzel Washington has hinted at a possible role in Black Panther 3, with acclaimed director Ryan Coogler reportedly penning a part just for him. Washington, a two-time Oscar winner known for his powerhouse performances across film genres, shared the news while promoting his role in Gladiator II.

Speaking to Australia’s Channel 9, the 70-year-old actor hinted at his future in film, indicating he’s selectively choosing roles that align with his long legacy in Hollywood. “At this point in my career, I’m only interested in working with the best,” Washington said. “I don’t know how many more films I will make, probably not that many. I want to do things that I haven’t done.”

The revered actor went on to share that he has several significant projects in his lineup. “I played Othello at 22, I’m now going to play it at 70. After that, I’m playing Hannibal. After that, I’ve been talking with Steve McQueen about a film. After that, Ryan Coogler is writing a part for me in the next Black Panther.

This news brings added anticipation to the Marvel franchise, already one of the most successful in cinematic history. The original Black Panther, released in 2018, shattered box office records, grossing over $1 billion globally. Its sequel, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, released in 2022, became a tribute to late lead Chadwick Boseman and achieved critical and commercial acclaim despite the immense challenge of moving forward without its star.

With Washington’s potential involvement, fans and critics alike are now speculating about what kind of role Coogler might craft for the iconic actor in this vibrant and culturally resonant franchise. As Black Panther 3 shapes up, Marvel enthusiasts await further announcements, eager to see how Washington’s profound talent will add to the legacy of Wakanda.
