Brigadier General Timothy Tifucro Ba-Taa-Banah of the Ghana Army has been bestowed with Spain’s highest Police Award, the White Cross to the Police Merit, for his remarkable dedication to combating terrorism and enhancing international cooperation. The prestigious award was presented by the Minister of Interior of Spain, Fernando Grande-Marlaska, in recognition of Ba-Taa-Banah’s outstanding contributions to security provision.
Ba-Taa-Banah, who serves as the Director of Ghana’s Counter-Terrorism Fusion Centre and Director of Operations at the Ministry of National Security, was honored for his exceptional leadership and commitment to safeguarding Ghana and the sub-region against terrorist threats. The award ceremony took place on April 4, 2024, at the residence of Spain’s Ambassador to Ghana, Javier Guiterrez, in Accra, as reported by Ghana Peace Journal.
