Meet 22-Year-Old Kwaku Boakye Gyamfi, One of The Youngest Medical Doctors in Ghana

Kwaku Boakye Gyamfi, a Ghanaian man, is receiving widespread acclaim for his remarkable achievement of graduating from the School of Medical Sciences at the University of Cape Coast (UCC) as one of the youngest medical doctors in Ghana. Born in 2001, Gyamfi’s journey towards becoming a medical doctor began at a tender age. He commenced his primary education at Danem Royal Montessori School in Accra at the age of five and completed his basic education in 2014, when he was just 13 years old.

In that same year, Kwaku Boakye Gyamfi gained admission to Prempeh College Senior High School in the Ashanti region for his secondary education. Impressively, he completed his secondary education at the age of 16 in 2017. Following a rigorous interview process, Gyamfi secured admission to the UCC School of Medical Sciences in 2017 while still being 16.

On September 7, 2023, at the age of 22, Kwaku Boakye Gyamfi successfully graduated from the UCC School of Medical Sciences after a six-year educational journey in medicine. As the second child and only son among four siblings, Gyamfi has brought immense pride to his parents, friends, and relatives by becoming one of the youngest medical doctors in the country. His graduation photos amazed social media users, with many expressing astonishment at how someone so young could achieve such a significant milestone in their career.

Gyamfi’s accomplishment follows in the footsteps of other Ghanaian trailblazers. Two years ago, Erica Maame Abena Pomaa Ntiamoah Mensah also became one of the youngest medical doctors in the country at the age of 21 after completing her medical program at the Accra College of Medicine. Prior to Mensah, Vanessa Aseye Mensah-Kabu achieved the distinction of being the youngest medical doctor in her batch when she was inducted at the age of 22.
