According to Billboard, Metro Boomin has sold part of its music catalog to Shamrock Capital for approximately $70 million.

The news comes months after Boomin’, née Leland Tyler Wayne, released HEROES & VILLAINS, his second LP, on December 2, 2022.

H&V has guest appearances from some of the game’s brightest stars, such as Chris Brown, A$AP Rocky, Gunna and Young Thug and Travis Scott, Future, Don Toliver, and Takeoff.

Metro’s sophomore album debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200 Albums Chart, making HEROES & VILLIANS the second consecutive album from the acclaimed producer to reach #1 as lead artist.

Founded in 1978, Shamrock began as the family office of Roy E. Disney. Since its inception, the company has grown to become one of the most active and influential buyers of music catalog investments in the industry.

The company’s most notable investment in recent years was Taylor Swift’s catalog Big Machine, which Shamrock acquired from Scooter Braun in 2020.

Similar to Metro Boomin‘s sales, Zaytoven has sold his music catalog to Ultra International Music Publishing for an undisclosed sum.

The Atlanta musician is also signed to the label, with a co-publishing deal that guarantees the producer to create new music. Zay will also increase collaborations with the company around the world in locations such as Los Angeles, ATL and London.
