The bid received a significant boost on October 4, 2023, when FIFA’s Council unanimously endorsed the Morocco-Spain-Portugal proposal as the sole candidacy for the 2030 tournament. This decision, followed by the submission of a robust bid dossier on July 29, 2024, showcased Morocco’s dedication to meeting FIFA’s rigorous requirements. FIFA’s evaluation report, released on November 29, 2024, awarded the bid exceptional marks, cementing its position as a leading contender.

To ensure the tournament reflects Morocco’s aspirations and vision, Lekjaa announced the establishment of an expanded committee. This body will include representatives from civil society, Moroccan expatriates, and African talents, aiming to deliver a globally celebrated event that highlights the region’s rich culture and unity.

The 2030 World Cup promises to be a historic event, with Morocco at the forefront of creating a memorable experience for players, fans, and the global football community.
