Posha Williams’ Ex-Husband, Simon Guobadia Deported to Nigeria After ICE Detention

Simon Guobadia, the estranged husband of reality star Porsha Williams, has officially been deported to Nigeria following months in U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) custody. The businessman and former Real Housewives of Atlanta personality has found himself at the center of both legal and personal turbulence over the past year—and now, that chaos has spilled across international borders.

According to reports, Guobadia was detained earlier this year and held at the Stewart Detention Center in Lumpkin, Georgia, one of several facilities under heavy use amid renewed ICE crackdowns. His longtime friend and business partner, Tai Savet, confirmed that Guobadia has been released and is now back in Nigeria, adding that despite the ordeal, he remains “in good spirits.”

Guobadia’s immigration status has been anything but straightforward. He first arrived in the United States in 1982 but was deported in 1992 for overstaying his visa. He later returned to the country and obtained permanent residency that same year—though sources now allege that this status was secured under an undisclosed identity, a revelation that likely played a role in ICE’s decision to detain him in February 2024.

The recent deportation comes in the wake of aggressive immigration enforcement policies that have persisted in the years since their introduction during the Trump administration. Guobadia’s case is just one of many that underscore the ongoing ripple effects of those policies, particularly for immigrants with complex legal histories.Posha Williams’ Ex-Husband, Simon Guobadia Deported to Nigeria After ICE Detention

Guobadia’s deportation adds yet another layer of complexity to his highly publicized split from Porsha Williams. The pair were married for just 15 months before Williams filed for divorce earlier this year. Since then, the process has been anything but smooth.

Williams has been granted exclusive use of their marital home while financial matters are still being resolved. Meanwhile, the divorce hearing—already delayed multiple times due to Guobadia’s detention—has been further complicated by his sudden departure from the country. He is expected to attend the next court session via video link.

At the center of the legal dispute is a prenuptial agreement signed before their November 25, 2022, wedding. Guobadia’s legal team is pushing for time to fully address the terms of that agreement, arguing that the outcome could shape the direction of the rest of the proceedings. “The motion to enforce the Prenuptial Agreement is a substantive motion that requires findings of fact by this Court,” his attorney stated, noting that their client’s detention had severely limited his ability to respond.Simon Guobadia

It remains to be seen how Guobadia’s deportation will affect the final outcome of the divorce proceedings. Though he is no longer on U.S. soil, the legal battle continues, and his remote involvement will be crucial in determining how property and assets are divided.

For now, Guobadia is adjusting to life back in Nigeria—far from the cameras, the courtrooms, and the country he once called home. As for Williams, she’s remained tight-lipped about the latest twist, focusing instead on moving forward as the legal dust settles.
