President of African Development Bank, Akinwunmi Adesina Awarded Man of the Year (Africa) in 2022 By EMY

The President of the African Development Bank (AfDB), Dr. Akinwumi Adesina, was named Man of the Year 2022 (Africa) by Exclusive Men of the Year (EMY).

The EMY Africa Awards celebrate leaders, young entrepreneurs, community builders, and captains of industry across the continent.

The awards ceremony has become one of the biggest events since 2016, celebrating the best achievements of men in the local industry, community, culture, and public service.

During the awards ceremony, EMY Africa said that Dr. Adesina was selected for his visionary leadership as President of the African Development Bank Group and his outstanding contribution to Africa during his tenure as Nigeria’s Minister of Agriculture.

UN Resident Coordinator in Ghana, Charles Abani, who presented the award in Accra, Ghana, said: “When we look around, we see different people making their contribution to society.

We know that if we harness our agricultural value and move up the value chain, Africa will remain Africa. One man championed his inspiration and motivation and convinced us with a vision and strategy that we can achieve this.”

ADB Country Manager in Ghana, Eyerusalem Fasika, accepted the award on behalf of Dr. towards Adesina. In her speech, Fasika thanked the EMY team and all partners for the recognition.

On the same night, the CEO of Engineers & Planners Ghana Limited, Ibrahim Mahama, also received the EMY AFRICA – MAN OF THE YEAR award. Mahama was recognized for his contribution to the growth and development of private enterprise in Ghana and Africa as a whole.
