A star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame was unveiled in honor of Michael B. Jordan on Wednesday, two days before the release of Creed 3, in which Jordan reprises his role as the heavyweight boxing champion in his directorial debut.
Jonathan Majors, who plays Creed’s rival in the film, and Ryan Coogler, who directed 2015’s Creed and received a story by credit in Creed 3, joined Jordan to speak at the ceremony at the 6201 Hollywood Blvd, Opposite Funko Hollywood toy store.
Born on February 9, 1987 in Santa Ana, where he spent the first two years of his life before moving to Newark, NJ with his family, Jordan made his acting debut in a 1999 episode of “The Sopranos.” His first major film role was in the 2001 sports comedy/drama Hardball.
Jordan was a cast member on the first season of the HBO drama The Wire which aired in 2002. From 2003 to 2006 he played troubled teenager Reggie Montgomery on the ABC daytime drama All My Children, replacing Chadwick Boseman in the role.

Jordan played quarterback Vince Howard on the NBC football series Friday Night Lights from 2009 to 2011. His other television credits include Parenthood, Law & Order: Criminal Intent, and Lie to Me.Â
Jordan is best known for his portrayal of Oscar Grant, who is shot dead by a Bay Area Express cop in the 2013 biographical drama Fruitvale Station, directed by Coogler.
Jordan was part of the cast of Black Panther, which won the 2019 Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture.Â
He reprized his roles as Ngadaka or Killmonger in the 2022: Black: Wakanda Forever. Jordan’s other films include Red Tales, Fantastic Four, Just Mercy, Without Remorse, and Journal for Jordan.
