Tragedy struck the town of Mogincual in Mozambique’s Nampula province as lightning claimed the lives of four individuals and left three others injured.
As Storm Filipo made landfall, the nation braced for potentially devastating consequences, with forecasts suggesting the storm could intensify into a severe tropical storm before dissipating at sea. Already, increased rainfall has been recorded, raising fears of mudslides and other hazardous conditions.

In response to the looming threat, Mozambique’s National Institute of Meteorology (Inam) issued warnings to boats and vessels, urging them to take necessary precautions to ensure the safety of crews and passengers.
